One thing seasoned fisherman/Fisherwomen can agree on, fluorescent lures attract fish. Pretty much all fishing gear for just about any species of fish we target has fluorescent options. In some cases, they are the most productive gear we use! Spoons, Plugs, Hoochies, Corkies, Flies, Squid Jigs, Bottom fish grubs, Halibut gear and just about everything else have fluorescent versions, they even produce fluorescent fishing line, hooks and swivels have fluorescent options. even the flashers they make with ‘blinkie lights’ have fluorescent vinyl on them… Glow Works!
The next step we face, how do we make the fluorescent glow the best? The best source for charging Fluorescent is Ultraviolet, UV light "activates" fluorescents, and even though we may not be able to see much of a difference, the fish can.
The best Ultraviolet source is direct sunlight, but that’s not always available, and it only gives you a two-dimensional light source.
I’ve tried Flashlights, Deck lights UV Flashlights, camera flashes, they work.. some work better than others, but then we started thinking there could be a better way, quicker, easier.
So, we started tinkering with an idea of making something that would charge our fishing gear, be easier to use, Completely surround my gear a full 360 degrees, and work faster than swiping my gear with a flashlight.
I researched the best UV wavelength for charging fluorescent properties, which was different than what the available UV flashlights used.
From that idea, We present the Glow Tube!
